Now that the dust has settled, it looks like everything is final and life can move on. The day of the divorce obviously didn’t go as either of us expected, and it took me a while to make my peace with. I quickly accepted your offer to leave that day, while you went to have the judge sign all of the papers. I greatly appreciated being able to get out and clear my head, but I did not get the opportunity to thank you in person for all of your hard work.

As you said at the very beginning of the process, neither party is going to like the final settlement, which usually means it’s about where it should be. I guess that advice helped me get my mind right, and I think we ended up pretty much where I expected. I actually think the final settlement is pretty fair overall.
Just so you know, things have improved greatly since everything was finalized. As we both appear to be putting the anger aside, hopefully to stay, we can speak and communicate much more effectively. I sincerely hope that things only continue to improve for the kids’ sake.
