Senior Counsel
Stephen D. Morrison, III, is a Savannah native and son of a shrimper. He is a formidable trial lawyer, championing his client’s cause with a unique combination of elite legal experience and blue-collar bona fides.
After a career at big firms and multiple stints in the federal government, Stephen became a plaintiffs’ lawyer to pursue justice for people who are injured by others. He is an experienced trial lawyer who can negotiate high-stakes disputes, with broad-ranging experience ranging from personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from motor vehicle collisions, trucking accidents, maritime injuries, and medical malpractice, to commercial disputes involving mass torts, antitrust, consumer law, breach of contract, data practices, real estate, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. He has litigated cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts across the country, all the way to the United States Supreme Court. Stephen’s complex litigation background animates his pursuit of a simple goal: full justice for his clients.
Stephen’s expertise was born on the back of a shrimp boat but has been refined by elite legal practice. His career began in Washington, D.C., at one of the world’s largest law firms representing Fortune 100 companies. After D.C., Stephen clerked for two years for (retired) Northern District of Georgia Chief Judge Timothy C. Batten, Sr., in Atlanta, Georgia. He resumed private practice at his old law firm, this time in Minnesota, where his nationwide practice developed. He has litigated complex cases and served in lead roles on trial teams in multibillion-dollar disputes, including opioid litigation with state attorneys general and municipalities antitrust class actions and consumer investigations.
Stephen brings the full weight of this high-level experience to bear when representing injured clients. He has represented plaintiffs at the United States Supreme Court and prevailed in jury trials in multiple states, including a recent $22.3 million dollar verdict in California state court where he secured justice for victims of a tractor-trailer collision.
Outside of the office, Stephen maintains a deep connection to his local and professional community. He is an Eagle Scout and serves in various bar and community leadership roles, including local and national roles in the Federal Bar Association, most recently as President of the SDGA FBA Chapter, and is a 2025 GTLA LEAD class member. He has also provided thousands of hours of pro bono representation to clients who cannot afford counsel.
Stephen lives in Minnesota with his wife (also an attorney) two young daughters, and an English cream retriever, Ollie. He enjoys spending time outside, winter and summer, skiing, boating, cooking, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and traveling within and without the United States.
