A terroristic act occurs in Atlanta when someone commits any of the following acts:

  • Burning a cross or another symbol with the intent to terrorize someone’s household
  • Shooting or throwing an object at a conveyance occupied by passengers
  • Releasing a hazardous substance to terrorize someone else or to evacuate a building

The convictions for committing a terrorist act in Atlanta are quite severe. If no one is injured during a terroristic act, you will receive a fine of up to $5,000. You could also face up to ten years of imprisonment.

If any person suffers a serious injury due to your terroristic act, you will receive a fine of up to $250,000. You will also receive a prison sentence between 5 and 40 years.

Definition of Terroristic Retaliation Charges in Atlanta

If you commit a terroristic threat or act in a retaliatory fashion against someone who has testified against you, you will face even harsher penalties. For a terroristic threat, you will face at least 5 years in prison and could be sentenced to spend up to 10 years behind bars.

You will also receive a minimum fine of $50,000. If you commit a retaliation terroristic act, you will be sentenced to spend between 5 to 20 years in prison and may receive a fine of at least $100,000.
